We know that your dogs are happiest when they're curled up at your feet (or maybe waiting for you to drop a piece of steak?). We're only too happy to welcome your dog when you dine with us. Serving up seasonal produce, the daily fresh croppings from our Kitchen Garden and beef and game from our family farm and local estate, come and see why we're two times 'Taste of Kent' winners.

Please note that while we encourage our guests to explore our Kitchen Garden, dogs are not allowed in this area, but can sniff out the front lawn with its beautiful estuary views, or the many country and coastal walks we have locally.

Your doggie essentials will be waiting for you in your dog-friendly bed and breakfast room. You'll find a large, comfortable bed, a bowl, and welcome pack. If your dog prefers, we can also arrange for a crate upon request. Additionally, we're excited to introduce our brand new dog menu featuring delicious treats from Sir Woofchester's. Your pups can enjoy a Sunday Roast, Fish & Chips, and even Bark Brew "Beer" in our restaurant.

Let your dogs run off lead at our NEW dog exercise paddock* located just up the road at Mocketts Farm Cottages. Free to use for all our overnight guests, let your pup stretch their legs in our secure dog field, surrounded by nature. Bookings are essential. The Ferry House is an opportune stop off on the Isle of Harty Trail - a wonderful circular walking route of about 9km that takes you through our wild wetland coastline via the 11th century church of St Thomas the Apostle. Make for the Blue Flag beach at Leysdown, or perhaps divert into the Swale Nature Reserve with its abundant bird life and estuary's edge views.

The Harty to Shellness trail is an easy, circular walk from Harty, across unspoilt country to the beach at Shellness. The entire walk approaches 12km, if you continue the route up the coast to Leysdown. Of course you may decide to shorten the route and spend a relaxed afternoon looking for shells on the beach! It’s a wonderful walk to take in the countryside, coast and our magnificent local bird life.
