Waterside Barn Weddings

The Hop Wedding Barn is beautifully rustic with its beamed ceiling, Kent hops, fairy lights and complimentary vintage decor pieces. Complete with estuary views, it makes for a magical wedding ceremony venue for 30-130 guests. French doors open straight onto the beautiful terrace to the gazebo and gardens beyond, so you can move effortlessly from ‘I do’, to raising a glass and celebrating with your loved ones.

The Hop Barn is able to seat up to 70 guests for your wedding breakfast, or for larger parties you can combine this space with the stunning Event Suite adjoining the barn, or the Spring Barn from 2026.

Mark the biggest moment of your life to date in front of the waters of the Swale estuary, surrounded by stunning natural landscapes and - most importantly - your loved ones. Our elegant Oak Gazebo overlooks this perfect scene from the terrace, out over the landscaped Rose Garden and beyond. We can host Oak Gazebo wedding ceremonies from April to October, which can seat 200 guests. If you would prefer a barn wedding, the Oak Gazebo remains a beautiful photo opportunity and a wonderful mingling spot for your guests amid the wedding terrace.

Adjoining the Hop Wedding Barn, the Event Suite is the perfect backdrop for any style of wedding reception - from laid back elegance to rustic luxe. Floor-to-ceiling windows fill the space with natural light, letting in our water view panoramas. This is a room with romance at its heart, from its elegant uplighting, ivory starlight ceiling and chandeliers, to its statement dance floor. There’s ample space for up to 180 day guests and up to 250 evening guests to share your celebrations, with a bar and washrooms, not to mention full use of the Hop Wedding Barn. Bi-fold doors can open onto the wedding terrace and gardens. The Event Suite will be replaced by the Spring Barn from April 2026.

We're excited to introduce the Spring Barn, our stunning new venue set to replace the current Event Suite from 2026. The Spring Barn will feature a breathtaking Hammerbeam Oak Frame with cathedral-like roof details, large bi-folding doors offering panoramic estuary views, and the capacity to seat 200 guests for ceremonies and wedding breakfasts. For evening receptions, it comfortably accommodates 300+ guests. Additional highlights include an in-room bar available from your wedding breakfast onwards and a festoon-lit courtyard. The Spring Barn maintains the same size, shape, and orientation as the Event Suite, allowing you to get a true sense of the space during your visits.

You and your wedding guests can end the day in style and comfort, with accommodation to sleep 70+ in our eleven individually-styled, 4* ensuite guest rooms, plus five charming self-catering cottages just five minutes from The Ferry House. Five of these rooms - the Waterside Rooms - offer stunning views over the estuary and gardens meaning they are the perfect culmination to a wonderful day. A further six 'Coach House' rooms are also available with views over our Kitchen Garden. With the Honeymoon Suite included in your package, you can see out your first married night in style, in a luxurious, individually styled room, with views over the estuary or our gardens. All of our rooms come complete with our award-winning breakfast the following morning.

Our five Mocketts Farm Cottages are just minutes from The Ferry House and offer characterful and convenient accommodation for your guests – plus the option to extend your wedding celebrations. Sleeping 47+ and with all the comfort and practicalities you’d expect of self-catering accommodation, your big day can easily become a big weekend, with a games room, BBQ area and various dining areas for pre or post-wedding dinner and drinks. Your guests at the cottages are able to join your B&B guests at The Ferry House for breakfast the following morning, so you can come together to reminisce and eek out this special occasion a little longer.

The Garden Lodge is an exciting new addition to our wedding venue! It is one of two exclusive rooms where you and your partner can get wedding-ready in relaxed style. Set within our 1.5 acre Kitchen Garden, the location is the perfect combination of peace and privacy, keeping you out of sight of other guests, while being close enough to calm any wedding day arrival nerves. The room includes a comfy seating area, hair washing chair, three illuminated hair and make up stations, a beautiful dressing area, and more.

The Coach Lounge is the second of our wedding venue 'Readying Rooms' available to all of our couples. Located away from the Garden Lodge, there’s no danger of spoiling that first aisle-sight with your other half! It's simply a beautiful, relaxed space to get aisle-ready. Perhaps sipping some bubbles and enjoying a Brunch Platter with the VIPs in your wedding party.

Our barn wedding venue enjoys its own landscaped wedding garden. Overlooking the estuary and wetlands, it provides a stunning backdrop to your celebrations. With a romantic rose arch tunnel, festoon lighting and a planted stone bench curving gently around our fit pit, it's a tranquil spot to catch a moment as a couple, gather with your guests and capture beautiful photographs of your wedding day.

Our waterside location is but one of the blessings of our barn wedding venue. With easy access down the water's edge, you can take a romantic stroll as a married couple and 'press pause' for a moment on what is a busy and exciting day. It's especially beautiful as a backdrop to your photographs at golden hour as the sun sets over the water. Together, the expanse of water and a vast skyscape creates an utterly magical moment.

You'll find our Secret Orchard nestled between the wedding gardens and our Kitchen Garden. On your wedding day it is exclusively for you as a couple, allowing you to take a quiet moment together to enjoy the occasion and the stillness of our waterside hideaway. In the orchard you'll find vintage furniture where you can enjoy some bubbles, while the natural, soft textures and earthy tones afford beautiful photographs.

For a bit of pre or post wedding pampering, soothe nerves or tired muscles alike with a luxurious massage or facial in our tranquil Treatment Rooms. Whether you’re treating your wedding party or yourself, our carefully curated treatment list and essential oil blends are perfect for some well-deserved R&R. Exclusively for our couples, you can also prep yourself for that wedding day glow with a special course of five Eve Taylor Prescriptive Facials, culminating in a sixth pampering Face & Body Ritual Treatment (with a glass of bubbles, of course).
