Booking Conditions

Terms & Conditions

Please note these Terms & Conditions apply to bookings for The Ferry House B&B rooms. For Wedding & Event Terms & Conditions please email [email protected]. Separate Booking Conditions for our Mocketts Farm Cottages can be found here.

Bookings

Bookings and offers of bookings are all subject to availability. A contract shall only arise when your booking is subsequently confirmed in writing via confirmation sent by e-mail. We have the right to refuse any booking, for whatever reason prior to issuing you with written confirmation.

Please check all booking details carefully and inform us of any incorrect information immediately. The guest books the holiday as the consumer and therefore agrees that no liability can be accepted by The Ferry House for any expenses, costs, losses, claims or other sums of any description which relate to any business suffered or loss incurred.

Booking Cancellation / Change Of Booking

If you have to cancel your reservation we need to be notified by telephone immediately. The amount you are liable for is set out below and depends on when you cancel.

Ferry House B&B rooms

Cancellation notice: More than 48 Hours – Full Refund. Less than 48 Hours – we retain 100% of the first night’s stay, and refund any subsequent nights.

Mocketts Farm Cottages

For a cancellation or change of booking, our charges vary with the number of days before your holiday starts and when your cancellation notice is received.

Charges:
More than 6 weeks – 30% of the value of your booking retained
Less than 6 weeks – 100% of the value of your booking retained

Dinner & Stay Packages

If you have chosen a Dinner, Bed & Breakfast room rate, the package price includes £40pp towards your evening meal and drinks. If you spend over this amount it will be billed to you, along with an optional team tip of 12.5%.

Non-Availability Of Property

If for any reason beyond our control the property is not available on the date booked, or the property is unsuitable for let, all charges paid in advance by the guest will be refunded in full, but the guest shall have no further claim against us. Payment We require prepayment at the time of booking. Payment via our online booking provider Alacer can be made by credit/debit card.

Act of God

We will not be liable for our respective obligations under this agreement in circumstances amounting to Acts of God. An Act of God means any unusual and unforeseeable events beyond our control, including but not restricted to war, threat of war, civil strife, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, epidemics, terrorist activity, governmental action, acts of God. We shall only be able to rely on Acts of God after taking all practical steps to remedy the cause of Acts of God.

Website Details

We make every effort to ensure that the information provided is presented accurately on our website, in our brochures and in any other promotional material we may use. However, details and prices may be subject to change and errors do occasionally occur, so you must check all the details and arrangements with us at the time of booking. Sometimes changes to services or facilities at a property may occur after the booking has been made and in this instance we will let you know as soon as possible. Unfortunately we cannot accept responsibility for any inaccurate or misleading information given regarding the property or its facilities.

Liability

We shall have no liability for any death or personal injury unless this results from The Ferry House’s negligence or its employees (providing they were at the time acting in the course of their employment). In addition, we accept no responsibility for the safety of, or the loss or damage to the tenants’ possessions whilst on the property or land. Exception to this is if damage or loss is caused by negligence of The Ferry House or its employees.

Special Needs

 If you have any special needs, such as reduced mobility, please let us know at the time of booking so we can advise you on suitable properties.

Dogs

Up to two well trained dogs are permitted with our prior consent in Rooms 7 to 10 and must be confirmed in writing to you. If you do not inform us prior to your stay that a dog is staying then you will have this amount deducted from your security deposit. If you have mistakenly booked a non-dog room and haven’t let us know you are bringing your dog, then we may not have a dog-friendly room available. A charge of £20 per stay will be made per dog, per stay. Dogs are not permitted on furniture and we cannot accept responsibility for their safety. Throws and decorative cushions will be removed from the room for the comfort of future guests who may have fur allergies. Under no circumstances should the dog be left unattended in the room without a suitable crate/provisions made. Please note if you do not clean up after your dog a charge of £20-£50 will be made if we have to clear up after your check out. This relates to dog mess on the premises, excessive mud or excessive fur that demonstrates that dogs have been allowed on the furniture. Dogs must be kept on leads on the premises and not allowed to upset the local wildlife, waterfowl or farm animals. Please remember land owners are within the law to shoot loose dogs that are chasing their animals – hence this rule is strictly in place for your own animal’s safety. Please only walk on public footpaths, and do not trespass at any time on private land. We will happily supply you with information on wonderful local walks. If walking near the Mocketts Farm Cottages, the reservoir to the side/rear of the cottages is strictly no access at any time under any circumstances as this is privately owned and protected land, and is monitored 24/7.

Losses & Damages

Losses or damages incurred by you during your stay must be paid for. Before you arrive, the property will have been thoroughly cleaned and checked. If you find any discrepancies with the state of the property please notify us as soon as possible. If a loss or damage does occur to the property while you are staying there, please inform us as soon as possible to agree the level of charges to be paid. Charges will be deducted from your card on file. We are not responsible for any lost property left behind in our Accommodation, if we find items left behind we can return them to you at your own risk, you would be required to arrange a courier for collection.

Smoking

Please note that in accordance with current legislation, smoking or vaping is not permitted at any of our properties. A fine of £150 will be incurred if you are found smoking inside any part of the building to cover dry cleaning of all fabrics.

Supplement Charges

Camp bed (under 14) – £25 per person per stay for linen & towels & breakfast. Early check-in / Late checkout – charged at £10 per hour on agreement depending on time and availability.

Law

The contract between you and The Ferry House is governed by English Law. Any dispute you have with us shall be dealt with in an English or Welsh Court of Law. Your statutory rights are not affected by anything contained within these booking conditions.
