Although we had a pandemic wedding and torrential rain that didn’t stop our wedding day from being amazing!! The staff go above and beyond, they are so helpful and throughout everything the wedding team have been brilliant. 2 weeks before our day they announced the restrictions lifting so we could have more than 30 guests, within this time the team were so calming and reassuring, constantly asking if I needed help or guidance with anything. They also suggested different ideas like having our first dance outside under the gazebo which turned into one of my favourite parts of our day.
The food was delicious, we had afternoon tea as our wedding breakfast and all our guests commented on how lovely it was. The atmosphere is so chilled and being by the river is beautiful. We were lucky enough to have a break in the rain just long enough to go down by the river for photos which was amazing. Also the in house DJ was the best! He had us dancing from first dance to midnight. He took our requests, played party songs, slow songs, dance songs, he just couldn’t have been better!
We also stayed at Mocketts Cottages and got ready there the morning of the wedding. I thought the morning would be chaotic with five bridesmaids, me, my mum, make up and hair and a photographer but the relaxing atmosphere and space within the cottages meant I could sit back, chilled, under a blanket with a Buck’s Fizz in hand, the perfect way to start the day. I cannot thank The Ferry House team enough for everything they did to make our day special.
Nothing was too much trouble, I chopped and changed a few bits around, often with short notice and the team were so gracious about it. Emails always responded to promptly, usually same / next day, never once had to chase anything up. Had a personal contact through it all, I knew Sam was dealing with our wedding and knew everything back to front. I loved how much was included, ie the dj, accommodation, catering, basically all I had to think about was the “fun” bits like cake, dress and decoration
The whole experience from start-finish was faultless. The staff could not do more for us and every request was handled amazing which helped create our perfect wedding. The response times for emails was perfect and did not add on any unnecessary stress when planning the big day.
The venue looked perfect on our wedding day. The staff arranged everything exactly how we wanted it to be, it couldn’t have looked better even if we had decorated it ourselves! Every aspect of the day went flawlessly, staff were always available to help us and we felt really relaxed because everyone made us feel so at ease (in the lead up to the wedding day as well as on the day itself).
We visited the venue when a wedding was being set down, but we fell in love immediately. It was different to any other venue we had been to, the space is big enough should it rain to host all the guests, but also intimate. The gardens and water front also made it so special, like a Kent oasis. We were both really impressed by how we were treated by the staff from the get go - we did not feel like just another couple coming to view the venue, but that we as a couple and our story mattered, and that the staff cared about making our dream wedding come true.

Another simple, but major thing was how well we were welcomed every time we visited. Every member of staff welcomed us in such a friendly manner and immediately offered us drinks whilst we waited. It made us know we’d made the right decision every time we came back.
We would like to send our hugest thank you to all members of The Ferry House team. From the team members who greeted us during our decor drop off the morning before the wedding, up to the bar staff who said goodbye on the morning after the wedding, and for everyone else involved as part of our special day... Thank you! For allowing us to get married so smoothly in the sunshine and to enjoy all that The Ferry House has to offer (during a pandemic too) we truly do thank you and wish you all well from the bottom of our hearts. It was a fabulous day to remember.
We had the best wedding day ever at The Ferry House and I can't recommend them enough! From the planning to the final day! Everything was perfect! If I could do it all over again it will be my venue every time! I can't wait to stay there for our anniversary! Massive thank you to the wonderful Wedding Events Team! You are the best!
