Hospitality Careers at The FERRY HOUSE

We create weddings, celebrations and unforgettable stays in one of Kent’s most beautiful corners. None of it happens without brilliant people behind it.

If you take pride in your work, enjoy being part of a team and thrive on the feeling of a job well done, you’ll fit right in here.

Why The Ferry House?

We’re genuinely family-run

That shapes everything about how we work. We look after our team because we want you to stay, grow and feel valued, not just show up and clock off.

Work life balance

No, you won’t be scheduled every day of every weekend.

We publish rotas two months in advance as a minimum, often three or four. So you can make plans, be there for your family, book holidays, organise your studies, and actually have a life outside of work. Hospitality doesn’t have to mean no work-life balance.

We also close for at least five days every Christmas. That time is yours, for family, friends and celebrating or switching off properly.

If you’re fitting work around family life or other commitments, we get it and we’ll support you. You’ll be joining a friendly team in a place people genuinely enjoy coming to.

Grow here

Several of our current team joined in entry-level roles and now lead or supervise departments, or have moved into new areas of the business. If you want to develop, we’ll support you with training and opportunities.

However, not everyone joins us to build a lifelong career, and that’s absolutely fine.

Many of our team work with us alongside college or university, returning during holidays and fitting shifts around their studies. Wherever you’re heading, we’re proud to be part of your story.

Working here builds:

  • Confidence with people
  • Teamwork under pressure
  • Time management
  • Professional standards
  • Communication skills employers genuinely value

We’ve waved team members off to careers in all sorts of industries, and we love seeing where they go next.

A proper team

We work hard, we bring our A game, we support each other and we laugh – a lot. We hold two staff socials a year, because celebrating our wins together matters.

Meals on us

Working a shift of six hours or more? We’ll feed you. It’s a small thing, but it matters.

Always something happening

We’re constantly evolving – new projects, renovations, fresh ideas. There’s always something in the works at The Ferry House. It makes the place feel alive, and it means you’re joining somewhere that’s genuinely going places.

A commute worth making

We’re set in a stunning waterside, countryside location. Marsh harriers, open skies and free on-site parking. A world away from the urban rush, and that’s exactly why our people love it.
